A car park is coming for Ponsonby! But shh, it's top secret.
The inner city suburb of Ponsonby could soon be graced with a carpark – but Auckland City Council is keeping its lips sealed about the details.
In a recent meeting of the council’s Finance and Strategy Committee, the purchase of land in Ponsonby for parking purposes was discussed.
Joy, Private Bin squealed.
Anybody who has ever tried to find a space for their car in the busy street of trendy retail stores, cafes and bars will know it’s nigh on impossible to secure a spot.
Not to mention how overzealous the parking wardens are with issuing tickets the minute one goes over the allotted time period for occupying a car park.
But council decided that it would keep information about the deal secret because it contained “commercially sensitive” information.
Tell us, council, tell us!
Private Bin doesn’t like having to be patient – especially not when it involves what her ratepaying and taxpaying money is being spent on.
