Amazon unveils Kindle with a lit screen
Amazon has previewed four new Kindles, which will ship over October and November.
The flagship models won't be available for New Zealand - or at least not yet.
They are a new 8.9-inch (or iPad size) version of the Android-powered Kindle Fire, which comes with goods such as free cloud storage and discount access to movie. TV and music content from (the US-only) Amazon Prime.
And the new Kindle Paperwhite, the first Kindle with a lit screen. CEO Jeff Bezos says it will last eight weeks on one charge.
The cost of an entry-level 6-inch Kindle also got cut to $US69 or $US89 ($NZ112) for the international shipping version.

This looks the dream
I like pretzels
Argg. This is so annoying. I can get a Kindle Touch shipped to NZ from Amazon, but not the Fire HD.
This really rankles when you compare how much we get price gouged here. I landed a Touch about 9 months ago for about $190 NZD while at retail in NZ it was about $280.
@anonymous - why bother - the Kindle is really an android tablet with access to Amazon apps - Provided you are in the US.
Being in NZ the tablet is next to useless for any of the good stuff you'd want it for.
Perhaps Amazon need to come to NZ because NZ isnt goign to Amazon any time soon
Why wont Amazon allow the kindle to be shipped to NZ?
