Climate change skeptic seizes control of Australian opposition
The Australian Liberal party has a new leader with Tony Abbott ousting Malcolm Turnball in a ballot this morning by one vote.
Mr Abbott won the final ballot 42-41 to take control of the Australian opposition party.
Treasury spokesman Joe Hockey also had a crack at the leadership but was eliminated in the first round of voting.
Party arguments over support of the Australian Emissions Trading Scheme sparked the shock result with Mr Abbott vowing the Liberal Party would try to force the legislation back to the committee stage.
He further promised the party would vote against the legislation if this was unsuccessful in getting the legislation before a Senate inquiry.
During the debate over the leadership, Mr Turnbull warned the Liberals could not be seen as a party of climate sceptics who would do nothing.
Mr Turnball said he would not resign from parliament, while Julie Bishop will continue as deputy leader.
The Labour opposition was of the opinion that Mr Abbott's hard-nosed views on climate change would enhance the Rudd administration's re-election prospects.
Acting prime minister Julia Gillard told the Sydney Morning Herald it used to be her aspiration to see Mr Abbott lead the opposition, "and it will be my aspiration for Tony to remain in that job for a very long, long, long, long time".

Tony Abbott called the argument on climate change crap. He also said he didn't believe climate change was happening. He said the Earth was cooling. The only thing cooling here is Abbott's crap that he challenged Malcolm Turnbull for leadership of the Liberal Party on the grounds of climate change policies and not leadership issues. Tony Abbott is a snake. Now as Liberal leader, facing the voters, we find him conjuring up climate change policies. Tony Abbott seeks power at the expense of truth.
....Someone has the gonads to call out this fraud. Tony Abbot for Prime Minister of NZ!!!
At least the Australian Liberal Party are not sheep like NZ politicians, they know an ETS slush fund when they see one,we are novices in the political stakes ,and will always be behind the free thinkers like Tony Abbot , afraid to tell it like it is .
given that NIWA are now saying cooler temperatures - given the economic devastation National deliver with the Emissions con - where the burdon is on the tax payer. wouldn't NIWA's points call for Nick Smith to call a halt to the Maori Party Copehagen tax payer paid junket?
then call a halt to the emissions con.
that way key may stay in government
don't know, don't care, climate change is getting old, I wonder when they will change it to the Global Cooling stage again...

I wonder what the Cardinals and Bishops of the Religion of Climate Change will do to Tony Abbott. I bet they wish they were in Tudor times and could burn him at the stake or disembowel him! Pity John Key is not prepared to upset the Green zealots.
Monty - you are right. they've already turned their dodgy graphs upside down where Niwa are saying its a cool summer this year.
yet, how long can this emissions fraud live
Why this article don't mention the climategate scandal????
Research, they have been messing around with numbers and models, and their own emails show that!!!
Frankly, it doesn't matter if there are global warming skeptics out there, because the following will force the free market to cut emissions dramatically to save money.
This independently verified clean energy technology produces electricity at the astonishingly low cost of 1 cent per kilowatt hour. As reported by both CNN and the New York Times:

Check out above link to a 2 minute youtube video of a CNN report. What are the odds that the independent testimony below is fraudulent (not bloody likely unless you are a paranoid conspiracy theorist)? Here is a silver bullet technology: clean cheap and abundant energy.
In a joint statement, Dr. K.V. Ramanujachary, Rowan University Meritorious Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Dr. Amos Mugweru, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, and Dr. Peter Jansson P.E., Associate Professor of Engineering said, "In independent tests conducted over the past three months involving 10 solid fuels made by us from commercially-available chemicals, our team of engineering and chemistry professors, staff, and students at Rowan University has independently and consistently generated energy in excesses ranging from 1.2 times to 6.5 times the maximum theoretical heat available through known chemical reactions."

brad. in concept you are correct and its not a case of deny good / clean energrt. however, the issue people object to and reject is being conned and punished in a fraudulent manor.
TV1, Herald, TV3, the NZ government, liarbour, the EU, Kevin "nutcase" rudd, UN, Nick Smith, John Key etc.
Fact:
1: climate change is not about climate change - there is no sincerity about the cause. the fraudsters have blown the opportunity for climate responsibility through fraud.
this is irrespective of those who actually believe in it and i "used" to be one of them
2: climate change is about control
3: climate change is about systematic dissolution of anyone's property rights
4: climate change is about totalitarianism
5: climate change is about tyranny and corruption and the breakdown of free-market wealth
6: again - climate change is not about climate change
7: through increase taxation, many planned market distrupting events and international debt - governments will be shackled to one world government with MONEY.
then Brad, you'll have a problem. No money for clean energy investments.
You too are being conned by the con
