Greens to sell houses after controversy
The Green Party's super fund is selling two properties that landed them in trouble over housing allowances.
Green Party co-leader Metiria Turei said the decision to sell the Greens Superannuation Fund houses would give the public clarity about the use of Parliamentary housing allowances.
The party earlier admitted claiming above market rent for a house occupied by two of its MPs and said it paid back about $6000 to Parliamentary Service.

Seems like the Greens can't fool all of the people all of the time, just a pack of self serving no hopers, caught on camera.
Where's all the TV and media hype on this corruption- as always showing their very red colours!!
Does anyone really care about the greens and what they do! Bearded Hippies (both men and women)
the sooner the greens disappear the better!
they are an unfortunate result of mmp.they are an impediment to our recovery.
This raises the whole matter of MPs having taxpayers rent properties to their associated interests. Quite frankly it’s a scam and should be banned. The Greens are the worst example of this, renting properties they themselves own via their superannuation fund, but others are equally as bad. The electorate office of Phil Heatley (the Minister of Housing, no less) rents a house owned by Mr Healey (or one owned via a family trust) – an entire house for an electorate office when other MPs in Whangarei make do with a room or two. How do we know the rent is fair? How do we know that extra space is not being used for party purposes (but paid for by the taxpayer)? We don’t! To remove the uncertainly the Speaker should simply declare that MPs can’t rent property (via Parliamentary Services) property in which they have an associated interest. A quick fix – but no doubt one MPs with sticky fingers would not welcome.
How about the NBR asking the Hon Phil Heatley if he would have any objection to such a rule being introduced?
The Green Party's super fund should be invested in all eco-friendly projects, and their members would not mind even be comfortable living in eco-friendly tree-tops or caves.
We made a huge mistake letting a pack of useless we know best Hippies into Parliament, and let them gouge our money in a covert way.
Too late meanie Greenies you have been caught by your own petard ,hope the Auditor General checks your little nefarious scheme out in a proper manner, you remind me of the adage "THIEVES SCREAM THE LOUDEST' when found out.
