In death, Michael Jackson dominates the charts like never before
It’s a certified comeback: Jacko albums take seven of the top 10 slots on iTunes’ download chart, and 10 of the top 10 on Amazon’s CD sales chart.
It’s been quite some time since Michael Jackson, whose album Thriller sold 60 million copies during the 1980s, featured at the top of any chart.
But death, it seems, is the ultimate way to overcome an image problem.
Within 24 hours after his heart attack, the singer's back-catalogue dominates Apple’s iTunes chart in NZ, the US, and around the world.
On the world’s largest digital music store, Jacko albums take seven of the top 10 slots.
It’s a different story on the iTunes singles chart however, where The Black Eyed Peas remain at number one, and the top-rating Jacko song is Man in the Mirror, at number four.
Jacko is doing even better outside the purely digital realm.
Although it’s too early for retail store sales charts, Amazon.com lists Jacko CDs make a clean sweep of the giant e-tailer's top 10 (right).
The King of Pop is also King of the Torrents, with the illicit file sharing service listing a, well, torrent of seeders and leechers illegally sharing his MP3s.
New Zealand's newest e-tail effort, thewarehouse.co.nz lists no Jacko titles in its Top 10. The site is so slow to load it's possible that the first wave of customers yesterday are still trying to complete their purchases.

You go jacko!!!!
Michael Jackson is bigger in death than he was in life. Amazon.com reports sales are through the roof, 721 times what they were yesterday before "The King of Pop" died. The news media is fixated on the story, although there is not much new to add. For now, Michael Jackson's fans aren't ready to say goodbye.
If the massive coverage by the news media is any indication, the child-prodigy-turned-adult-superstar is even bigger in death than he was in life.

You are now immortal Micheal.
Michael Jackson was the true king of pop, rock and soul. The world will never know another entertainer as gifted and talented as Michael. Being an MJ fan is often a very lonely experience, especially after all the ridiculous controversies that have plagued him over the past two decades. If you are a fan, please realise that you are not alone! There are thousands of dedicated MJ fans in New Zealand that are very sad and upset to hear the terrible news of Michael’s passing. For this reason, I have created a support web site for Kiwi fans. The site is a message board that fans can use to communicate with each other during this difficult time.
