More expensive iPhone 5s outselling iPhone 5c two-to-one
The more finger-print scanner-equipped iPhone 5s is outselling the cheaper iPhone 5c by two-to-one, according to analysis by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP).
Apple says the new iPhones sold a record 9 million on their launch weekend, but hasn't broken out sales by model.
The iPhone 5S and 5c launched in the US on September 20.
CIRP says of US consumers who purchased Apple’s latest iPhones during the last days of September, the 5s accounted for 64 percent of total iPhone sales following its launch that month. The 5c accounted for 27 percent, with the iPhone 4S (which has been kept on as a budget model) making up the remaining 9 percent.
The iPhone 5s and 5c will be released here on October 25, sold direct by Apple online and various authorised resellers, plus on contract through Telecom and Vodafone.
