New menu at McDonald’s?

NBR understands McDonald’s is attempting to go a little posh with a new premium beef product on the menu from Wednesday.

The fast food chain is hosting a launch for invited guests at its Greenlane restaurant tomorrow afternoon.

It is thought the chain is adding a new burger to the menu, likely to mean a significant boost to New Zealand’s beef producing industry.

In July, McDonald’s in the United States added a range of Angus burgers to its permanent menu. Called “Angus third pounders”, the chain has reportedly been testing the burger in various markets throughout the country over the last two years.

In New Zealand, Angus beef is a sold domestically and exported as a premium quality for fine dining.

McDonald’s customers consume nearly 500 tonnes of beef in New Zealand each year.

They were testing these under the name 'Cafe burger' or some variant at the Greenlane store some time back. They were absolutely delicious and I was hooked, sadly when I went to get a second one - they had stopped selling them.

Whats the chance of getting a Dog Burger on the menu? Worth a try, well at least once I reckon!

having just returned home from the US I can indeed vouch for the quality of those Angus burgers. They were so good infact I couldn't stop at one! I now only wear XXL pants with elastic waist bands!

Hope that the thickshake machine is working - it wasn't last time I was there so we cancelled the whole order and went to Wendys down the road!
