NZ businessman wins global award

A New Zealander has been awarded a prestigious project management award at the Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Congress 2009 - North America in Florida, USA.

Iain Fraser of the New Zealand-based Project Plus has been given the PMI Fellow award during the PMI Awards Ceremony at the conference.

This is the first time the award has been given to anyone in South East Asia or Australasia and only the second time someone from outside of North America has won it.

Originally from the Highlands of Scotland and now living in Wellington, Mr Fraser is group managing director (chief executive) at Project Plus and a past chair of the board of directors of PMI.

He also has a number of other governance roles in various for-profit and non-profit organisations.

Project Plus specialises in the provision of project-based management services across the public, private and government sectors.
