NZ tech company off to Wales for international competition
Online budgeting service founder Grace Xue is off to Wales to represent New Zealand in the Technium Challenge International in late May, previously won by New Zealand companies Xero and TracPlus Global.
Ms Xue’s personal money management software company Who Stole My Money is the country winner for New Zealand owing to its proprietary world-first community intelligence and smart file upload engine technology, which addresses the two main problems people face in budgeting, making it extremely easy for people to get started budgeting and to manage their finances.
Government agencies Technium UK and International Business Wales (IBW), will give one company a lucrative UK business passport, enabling them to open an office in Wales and reach the 420 million+ European and UK markets.
International Business Wales spokesperson Gareth Davies says the standard of the New Zealand competition remains excellent.
“We were impressed with the high standard of the presentations of the six finalists, but Who Stole My Money clearly stood out from the rest in terms of their business proposition for expansion into the UK market, proven success and established clientbase.”
The winner will also receive free office space in a Technium centre as well as business advice.
Ms Xue says that she is looking forward to the next stage of the competition, representing New Zealand in Wales.
“I’m aware that kiwi Technium Challenge finalists have a big reputation in the international competition, and will be doing my best to continue that tradition.”
Grace Xue will join winners from 14 other countries, travelling on business class via Air New Zealand to Wales for one week to complete the last stage of the challenge and take her shot at the world title.
