The National government’s popularity has fallen slightly in the latest public opinion poll, along with the Maori Party, while that of its two other support parties has risen.
The Roy Morgan New Zealand poll, taken in the two weeks to November 15, shows the government’s overall rating has fallen 3.5 points to 57% – still well ahead of the opposition parties on a total of 43%, a 3.5-point rise.
The party standings are:
Government
National 51.5% (previously 55.5%)
Act 2.5% (1.0%)
Maori 2% (3.5%)
United Future 1% (0.5%)
Opposition
Labour 33% (29%)
Greens 6.5% (7.5%)
Others
NZ First 2.5% (1.5%)
Others 1% (1%)
Pollster Gary Morgan says,
Disunity in Prime Minister John Key’s government about the emissions trading scheme (ETS) legislation is proving a political headache... Although coalition partners the Maori Party are prepared to find a negotiated solution, Act … is completely against the ETS legislation and has sided with the two main opposition parties...

if John Key was truly and
if John Key was truly and genuinely interested in the well being of NZ, he'd do a lange of the 80's. He'd tell the United Nations where to go and cancel this Emissions sham, scam and con.
For, he keeps saying NZ is a leader. Well we can lead the world by debunking this con.
Fact: The only outcome with ETS (and global warming) is economic meltdown. So, we've nothing to loose anyway.
Point: It comes down to whether Key is truly interested in NZ or whether he's on the UN payroll
Emperors New Clothes!
It is like Y2K a complete scam or a way to keep 32000 scientists employed in the lifestyle they are used to, misleading the human race in all sorts of nefarious ways ,they think they are on a winner with the ETS,with their unproven theories.
Delay for two years
Then Key could deliver the argument that NZ will follow the lead of Europe, UK, USA, Australia etc so legalisation finally introduced will be similar. It is stupid to try and be a world leader to impress trading partners when it is obviously being used as an excuse for trade restrictions. Trading partners will find other reasons for restricting trade if NZ does have an ETS scheme.
As people who follow the science know, this is all a big scram. The recent emails and documents breached from the Hadley Climate Research Center in the United Kingdom have again shown this.
A wait for two years may hopefully mean the stupidity will have gone away.
Pull the plug John
John key should show leadership and pull the plug on this silly scheme. It will inevitably fail and its failure will be forever associated with John Key's government.
Pass it and from here on in its down a slippery slope for John key's National government. He will be punished by the voters for being naieve, and National will be punished for snubbing the wishes of the electorate and for forgetting that it is voters, not they, who have the power of office.
ETS
Lets be honest; the environmental lobby is all about perpetuating scams.
The Gren Party are not interested in a progressive developing NZ, which would provide future employment opportunities for young NZ'ers.
The financial calculations associated with the proposed schemes are unintelligible, because teh scheme is a scam with no real world economic foundation.
BUT, it provides a grand platform for newsmedia and environmental groups to confuse , obfuscate and deliberatley mislead the average NZ citiizen.
This is particularly true of the newsmedia, who see an opportunity to 'kick at' a government which they dont want; responsible government doesn't sit well with the media phsyc
global warming scam
national will continue to lose support so long as they support this silly scam
drop it now john!
john won't drop it. he's not
john won't drop it. he's not a leader. he hasnt the guts to stand up and tell his UN bosses to get lost.
Poll shows National
NATIONAL CONTUNUE AT NEW ZEALAD'S PERIL. SO SAD.
