Civil Defence refuses comment on Moon Man's March 20 quake prediction
The Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management said today it did not wish to comment on Ken Ring’s earthquake predictions.
Mr Ring has predicted another large quake for Christchurch on March 20.
The Ministry said it did not wish to put anyone forward to be interviewed about this prediction.
A spokeswoman said, as far as she was aware, Civil Defence had received no queries about Mr Ring's March 20 prediction.
The NBR has a standing invitation to Mr Ring to respond to our recent article.

NBR - stop giving your press time to someone as irrelevant and fraud as Mr Ring. You are one of the more respectable press in NZ - keep it that way. Mr Ring can go to the tabloids or gossip magazines for his 'prediction'.
I am certainly not going anyway on the 20th March. I am happy to take any wager about this 'strong' earthquake prediction. Any idea whether Mr Ring has defined what's "strong"? Mw=5? Mw=6? Mw=7? PGA=0.2g? 0.4g? 0.6g? Oh well...

looks like Mr.Ring is correct. He has predicted these earthquakes before. give the man a break. he is only warning us and we need to know!!!!!!!!

If the moon can alter the oceans and their tides it a fairly logical assumption the moon’s gravitational pull is also able to pull on the earths tectonic plates. Whether the earthquake happens on the 20th or not there is still logic in the theory!
As far as i am concerned he been pretty onto so far. I not prepared to put my childrens lives at risk just in case!!!!!! So we sent them away just in case better to be safe than sorry i say

The Moon 240,000 miles from Earth - it does move the ocean' tides and also the weather - this is NOT Astrology this is fact. The surface of the Earth's crust is proportionally very thin compared to the viscus molten magma below - much like a cooling skin on hot custard. We are so small and focussed on here and now that we don't appreciate that this has been happening and will continue to happen for millions of years after mankind has gone. Mr. Ring cannot predict exactly when or where but the likelihood due to increased gravitational forces - whats difficult to understand?
im not interested in what scientists have to say abpout an earthquake after its happened, i would rather listen to scientific facts about an earthaquake before it happens not taking any chances im out of here with my family

it's called Astrometeorology. Fascinating discpline, only now becoming 'mainstream' If anyone is interested in learning more, read up on Bruce Cathie's predictions. Or any number of astrologers such as Barbara Hand Clow.
Indeed, when planets align in particular aspects, one can predict terra events, including volcanic eruptions.
i believe that mr ring is correct, it does not need a genius to understand, what is said about the moons closeness and the tides etc is easy to understand and very true,he is not scaring us only making us a little more aware and trying to help. people are too quick to put others down, sad sad world, life is too short.
I guess there will now be no earthquake on this day as "they" do not want you to know "they" have the technology to create the earthquakes and even now PDF are going out on the internet re this (but the link seemed interupted). I have studied this for years and labelled nuts of course but the truth is the truth. NZ has Trillions in resources and the earthquake and Pike River were deliberate and murder and NZ is economically destroyed and this is a way to get to the resources that are needed. The earthquake was a result of HAARP type technology

People are too quick to judge ken ring the poor man obviously knew that he was going to be bombarded with idiots like kam!! He is only trying to warn us. And if thats not enough to make us leave my families church is about to fall and the minister who who was strong willed in staying put and starting again, payed no notice to ken rings prediction until early this week visited my family to warn us of his knowings. first was the prediction of kenring-ignored, second was the conversation with one of the eqc workers who warned outr minister that the goverment knows a whole lot more than it was willing to tell, and that another big one would do way more than just destuction to roads and buildings but that he had to consider that chch was a swamp land before man made it the way it is now and also more shocking facts.
3rd family call from overseas warning of there findings about another big one to come 4th few days later a family member from different family warning of what they feel is to come.
i myself don't go to church anymore its been say a year but my family are still strong in the faith.
but hey i trust my minister and for him to go is a big eye opener, so hey i'm not staying now

hi iv read most of this stuff and i think its each for ur own as ur own beliefs are ur opinions u do whats best for ur family if ring is right then the government need to pay some attention if not then he needs to get this facts right befor scaring everyone but he has been ok around the times he stated not accurate but who can be the scientist are not saying anything so least he giving it a shot dont have a bitching sesh just do as u need for ur family i sure am and good on to the people have gotten off their arses to help those in need i wish u well

supermarkets dairies and other small businesses yet operating in christchurch are shutting shop from the 18th march till the 20th, everyone is taking precautionary mesaures to ensure if another natural calamity does occur then it is better to have been safely wise than dumb sorry. being postive is what we have learnt but doesnt mean we ignore others who have knowledge in their field and have proved themselves right. there are two planets namely mars and saturn who are going to be aligned in a straight line between the 25th of march till the 3rd of april 2011 and that may also be disastrous. just a thought for those being too positive and not heeding advise.

I think govt ve the responsibility to let everyone know and keep ussafe, ( no school, no working these days, prepare more food n drinks, packing....etc)

IF the prediction is fake, - it will only end up by.. " Oh ok, so its not real? great."
IF the prediction is real- We might die (or our love ones, family, friends...) and it will be too late to regret.
So why not just keep yourself n family safe, JUST IN CASE.

KEN RING IS PATHETIC AND I FEEL HE OWES AN APOLOGY TO THE PEOPLE OF CHRISTCHURCH FOR ALL HIS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIIT. MEDIASHOULD ALSO CUT TIES WITH HIM AS THEY ARE ENCOURAGING HIM.
