Ted van Arkel is to join The Warehouse board as an independent director from July 1.

Mr van Arkel is a professional director with over 40 years' experience in the retail and wholesale sectors. He is currently chairman of Restaurant Brands, Charlie's Group, Health Benefits and Unitec Institute of Technology, and is also a director of several other private companies. Before becoming a professional director he was managing director of Progressive Enterprises.

Mr van Arkel's appointment brings the number of independent, non-executive directors on the board to five of a total board of seven directors.
