At the 10th annual Telecommunications and ICT summit (TC10) now on in Auckland, Vodafone chief executive Russell Stanners said he was looking forward to the $30 million Big Wednesday draw tomorrow night - in which the jackpot must be paid out.

The telco boss said his company was fighting for discretionary money - and every time a Lotto jackpot hits $10 million, Vodafone prepay customers stop topping up to $20.

“I could show you an absolute correlation,” said Mr Stanners.

When the jackpot hit $30 million, forgetabouit.

“I want Big Wednesday regulated,” joked the Vodafone boss.
