Weta's work set to shine in Avatar
Weta Digital’s talent will once again be showcased when the latest film it worked on, Avatar, is released around the country tomorrow.
The film took four years to produce and includes ground breaking and revolutionary technology. Titanic’s James Cameron directs the film. He first thought of the film 15 years ago but the technology had not yet been developed to put the film into production.
Wellington-based Weta Digital worked on the lion’s share of the film’s effects, which included the full suit of digital production services from concept design to cutting edge 3D animation.
Weta used HP BladeSystem technology to create the effects for the film. Weta has won four Academy Awards. Click here to read a review of the film.

Weta Digital would have to be - without a single doubt - the BEST in the world with what they do in special effects/CG movies & I'm certain no one would disagree with that.
Yet another hugely successful New Zealand company!! :)
