Will last minute dissension threaten amended ETS?

Reports are emerging the Maori Party is in disagreement over its deal with National to back the amended climate change bill - due for its third reading in Parliament this afternoon.

Environment Minister Nick Smith is pushing the bill through under urgency this week, after apparently securing a deal with the Maori Party to ensure support.

But the Maori Party is reported to have arranged an urgent telephone conference this afternoon as certain unknown members of its 26-member national council, disagree with the deal.

NBR was told Minister for Maori Affairs Pita Sharples' press secretary was on leave and co-leader Tariana Turia's press secretary's phone was otherwise engaged.

Maybe not enough KOHA?

I want some $ and I want some. Me too!!! Idiots...When you give preferential treatment to certain "families" or whatever, it's called corruption, or mafia dealings even. But not in New Zealand...

maybe not enough home heating package bribes. useful when the bribe relates to the con of global warming. silly, silly, silly Maori.

conned in the 1800's. conned by a con again in 2009

what the Maori fail to realise is the United Nations do not give a rats about sepratist entitlement. i.e. Helen Clark hates the Maori.

the point being when the Copenhagen Global Government 'treaty" document is signed - either at Copenhagen or behind the scenes (hence no one going)...the Maori will have been conned again. but, the implications this time won't be land. it'll be societies total decay.

i.e the ETS is about destabilising the world economy to deprive people of property rights.

wake up people

If the Maori party were ethical, they would withdraw support and let this sh!!t legislation remain in the sewer to be flushed out where it belongs.
National has to go along with it due to the idiot media support for this global warming crap

spell-checking?
