New Zealand engineering firm Beca said today it had bought Wollongong engineering firm MBK South Coast.
Beca chief executive Richard Aitken said the deal significantly enhanced Beca's presence in one of Australia's most significant industrial markets.
Beca is already active in Wollongong where it provides services to heavyweight BlueScope Steel.
MBK specialises in civil and structural engineering and Computer Aided Design.
Beca has operated in Australia since 1960 and following the MBK acquisition will have 300 staff there.
