TradeMe extends 8400 auctions, explains outage

New Zealand’s busiest site has suffered a rare crash.

TradeMe crashed at around 10.45am this morning, and remained down until 11.10am.

As with anything TradeMe-related, Big Statistics are involved.

Spokesman Paul Ford told NBR that around 50,000 users were online at the time, and 8400 auctions were due to close between 10.45am and 11.10am.

All of the affected auctions were extended by one hour.

French A320 crash report blames low-flying manoeuvres

The first official report into the crash of an Air New Zealand Airbus A320 off the coast of France last November blames low-speed flying at a low altitude.

The Airbus A320 was on check flight manoeuvres and the report says a stall warning went off two minutes before the crash, which claimed the lives of all on board.

They were two German pilots flying the aircraft, four personnel from Air New Zealand, which was taking delivery of the aircraft, and a New Zealand civil aviation official.
