Kiwi-Korean roundtable meet to delve into FTA

Select members of the local business community will be heading to Seoul this week to meet their counterparts, in a bid to boost Korean business interest in New Zealand ahead of the government’s free trade negotiations.

The roundtable discussions have been organised by the New Zealand International Business Forum in conjuction with the Korean International Trade Association, and will run over 9-10 June.

Lose your job, hand your car back

Hyundai New Zealand has announced a free insurance policy for individuals who buy Hyundais on finance and are then made redundant.

The policy is based on a similar one to that introduced by Hyundai America in January.

To qualify, an individual must have been with their employer for at least 12 months prior to being made redundant.

The car, new or used, must have been financed through a Hyundai dealer, which effectively means the finance deal will be through Marac. marac is underwriting the redundancy insurance.

Hyundai warned over hybrid car ads

Hyundai has received a warning from the Commerce Commission saying ads that ran for one of its vehicles were “at risk” of breaching the Fair Trading Act.

The advertising campaign for the Hyundai i30 made claims about the vehicle based on the results of 2007’s World Solar Challenge, which is a solar-powered car race that includes other classes of fuel-efficient cars.
