Matt Whineray appointed to guardians of NZ super

The Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation today announced Matt Whineray had been appointed to the new position of general manager private markets.

Mr Whineray is returning from Hong Kong where he is employed by  Credit Suisse. Formerly, he worked in Auckland with First NZ Capital, where among other things he did work for Rank Group, owned by billionaire Graeme Hart. Guardians chief executive Adrian Orr said Mr Whineray had extensive professional experience in private equity, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, property, infrastructure, and forestry.
