As thirteen senators announced their opposition to PIPA, the controversial bill before the United States senate that aimed to address non-US websites that pirated movies, music and more, a new bill has been introduced.

Hands on with blazingly quick Firefox 3.5; RC due next week

Mozilla Corp. has delayed the release candidate of Firefox 3.5 from this week ‘til next, but NBR's tests reveal it'll be worth the wait - this fox is blazingly fast.

Typically the browser itself will ship two weeks after the release candidate, allowing for final bugs to be fixed, which means the company will be pushing it to reach its end-of-month deadline for Firefox 3.5's final code.

Microsoft to let you pull IE 8 from Windows 7

Under pressure from the EU, Microsoft is going to give people the option to remove its web browser from Windows 7, according to a leaked screen shot.

The screen shot of Windows 7 Build 7048, first posted on the Aero Experience blog, clearly shows a “Windows Features” set-up screen that gives you the option to delete Internet Explorer 8, along with other components.

Mozilla does mobile - but this Fox is a dog

Firefox Mobile (aka “Fennec”), will be Mozilla’s first smartphone browser. But don’t hold your breath, alternative browser fans – early reviewers of the alpha version find a Fox with a long way to run before it's ready for public release.

Fennec first surfaced during October, in an alpha version that ran on the little-known Nokia Internet Tablet.

This week, another early-test version of Fennec was released, this time for Windows Mobile handsets.
