Business figure pleads not guilty to attempted murder charges

A prominent Auckland businessman has pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder and will face trial in November.

The man, who also pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated robbery, cannot be identified due to name suppression orders.

But he is a well-known figure in the business community, who founded a large company.

The charges stem from an incident last April when the accused man allegedly showed up at his former business partner’s home, uninvited, with a shotgun and a knife.
