Super Fund targets Crown-owned assets

The New Zealand Superannnuation Fund is looking at investing more money in New Zealand and is looking strongly at two potential investments in particular.

The fund, which is designed to part-fund New Zealand’s future superannuation costs, released its annual report today, which revealed it is looking at investments under its “NZ Direct” strategy.

Potential investment targets include collective, co-operative and Crown-owned assets.

Todd to appeal Pohokura loss

Todd Energy will appeal its loss in a $274 million damages claim case brought in the High Court against Pohokura joint venture partners Shell and OMV.

The appeal is expected to be heard for about two weeks in August next year.

Todd went to the High Court in Wellington in February seeking $274 million in damages from its joint venture partners for limiting the amount of gas that could be extracted from the Pohokura field.

High Court dismisses Todd claim over Pohokura 'collusion'

The High Court has dismissed a claim that Shell colluded with Austrian oil company OMV by restricting the gas and oil they allowed to be produced from the Pohokura gas field and so disadvantaged third partner Todd.

Todd Pohokura Ltd went to the High Court at Wellington seeking damages of $274 million from Shell Exploration NZ Ltd and OMV NZ Ltd, its international partners in Taranaki's offshore Pohokura gasfield.
