ISPs achieve 99.99% availability for July

Internet service providers Snap, TelstraClear Cable, Woosh and WorldxChange achieved 99.99% internet availability in July, data from the Commerce Commission revealed today.

Telecom achieved 99.99% internet availability throughout May, according to the commission’s latest report on broadband quality for the three months to June 2009 also released today.

The reason for the improvement was credited to the implementation of caching solutions for international traffic. This was particularly true for Telecom.
