Facebook has denied claims from 'The Sunday Times' they have been accessing user's personal text messages.

iPhone wide-open to hacks sent via text

An expert Mac hacker is warning that Apple iPhones are vulnerable to binary code attacks sent via text that could give the hacker complete control of the phone.

Charlie Miller is reportedly an authority on MacOS X security, and is a co-author of The Mac Hacker's Handbook.

Binary code can be sent to mobile devices using SMS, but normally any sent code isn’t executed.

Zeacom, Datasquirt target councils with new bulk txt tool

Two New Zealand-based telephony software makers have teamed to create a tool that lets organisations respond to high-volume queries sent by txt.

Zeacom and Datasquirt say their new product, which bolts SMS queuing on to unified communications software, will appeal to generation X and Y people who want to request a service from a council –say, to ask for some graffiti to be removed –but would prefer to txt a code rather than make a call.
