Retailers welcome credit card competition

The New Zealand Retailers’ Association has welcomed a settlement between the Commerce Commission and seven financial institutions in a case of anti-competitive credit card dealings.

The commission announced this morning it had settled with ANZ National, ASB, Westpac New Zealand, Bank of New Zealand, Kiwibank/New Zealand Post, TSB Bank and The Warehouse Financial Services over claims they had breached the Commerce Act.
