All Whites humble world champs Italy with 1-all draw

The All Whites continue to set new highs for New Zealand football after drawing 1-1 this morning with world champions Italy in a group D match at the Fifa Wortd Cup in South Africa.

Shane Smeltz gave the All Whites the lead in the sixth minute but Italy levelled in the 28th minute when Tommy Smith conceded a penalty after tussling with Daniele De Rossi.

Sky, TVNZ share World Cup rights: HD possible

TVNZ has confirmed high definition content will be available for its shared coverage of the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa, but declined to give specifics on how many games will be screened in this format.

Sky and TVNZ announced today they will share their coverage of the tournament.

Sky will have the full live rights to all 64 matches, with TVNZ broadcasting 11 live matches, including the opening match, final, both semis and the third place playoff.
