Chinese develop Photoshop for idiots

A group of Chinese students have created a programme that can take a simple free-hand drawn sketchy, then turn it into a photo montage using images pulled from the web.

The collective has made the code for their software open source, and available for free download from the Photosketch site (which today has been overwhelmed by traffic at many times; be patient with the embedded video below).

In an article headlined “Photosketch: better than sliced bread, Photoshop”, ZDNet blogger Andrew Mager proclaims “This is quite possibly the coolest thing I’ve ever seen a computer do”.

Over at Technoligizer, former US PC World editor Harry McCracken labels it “cool cool cool”.

Certainly, the demo looks good. Let’s hope all those images are copyright kosher.

Chris this is super for a non geek like me.
however when I went to the page you refrenced i couldn't find a download link to get the program.
any ideas

For real? Wow! This is pretty simple and cool. But i think they had to limit this because photo editing is really a skill and using this will just simplify everything and lose the essence of the skill.
