Affinity iD and justONE make good at marketing awards

Indie agency justONE took out top honours at Friday night’s RSVP and Nexus awards, winning the RSVP Grand Prix award, gold and bronze RSVPs and two bronze Nexus awards.

The agency scored the top accolade – the Grand Prix – for its Subcard loyalty programme for key client Subway.

Proximity iD – newly relaunched as Affinity iD – took out the Nexus Supreme Award for its Onecard Insights on Demand campaign for supermarket client Progressive Enterprises.

It also collected three golds, five silvers and a bronze award.

New indie Federation picked up a Gold RSVP for customer retention for Meridian Energy after being in business for only a year.

Held at Sky City and MC’ed by ex-Shortland Street “star” Mark Ferguson, the event was a showcase of the best response-driven marketing campaigns the country has to offer.

Finalists’ campaigns were displayed around the room on 52 TV screens suspended from the ceiling.

Nicole Yeoman and Phoebe Smith from Massey University School of Visual Communications won The New Zealand Post Student Marketer of the Year Award.

A full list of winners is available here.

What's the subcard campaign? Haven't seen it. Is it DM or digital?

A night for the newcomers while most of the old tried and trues didn't seem to make it through. Nice one JustONE and Federation.

It's a loyalty card programme. You can also sign up for Subway emails, which entitles you to all kinds of fun goodies.

Emails about sandwiches. Sounds great.

With apologies to justONE and Subcard, I gave you the (over) simplified version.

In fact it's rather a nifty promotion. I'll write about it soon so you can see the details.

Suffice to say the judges wouldn't hand out a Grand Prix nilly-willy to something that was sub-par.

Where did FCB come from? They won as many awards as JustOne.

With 4 golds, a silver and 2 RSVP Craft winners it looks like DraftFCB were the surprise of the night with the most top metal - nice work guys!

Isn't it Tony Clewitt's night? He was involved in all the Aim work that won, and as the Creative Director at DraftFCB he won the most Golds for them.

Except that he wasn't involved in any of the DraftFCB work. He joined at the end of last year. Creative Director was Jeff Harris.
