The new chief executive of AMP NZ Office Trust has convinced a former colleague to join him from Goodman Property Trust.

AMP NZ Office Trust's new chief executive Scott Pritchard has hired chief financial officer George Crawford, who used to work with him  at Goodman Property Trust.

Mr Pritchard started working as the new chief executive of property vehicle AMP NZ Office Trust, which owns $1.27 billion of buildings, last month.

He had previously spent four years working at fellow listed property vehicle Goodman Property Trust as fund manager of its $1.47 billion portfolio, where chartered accountant Mr Crawford also worked.

“Mr Crawford has extensive experience in corporate finance and financial management and has a wide range of hands on experience in capital management, investor relations, financial management and reporting specific to the listed property sector,” AMP NZ Office Trust chairman Craig Stobo said.

Goodman Property Trust chief executive John Dakin said that to replace the pair, two new job titles were being created.

A former Goodman Property Trust staffer Murray Barclay would be returning as general manager of property and former investment banker Michael Strudwick would be general manager of finance.

Mr Crawford will start at AMP NZ Office Trust in the new year, replacing Wellington-based chief financial officer Amish Vallabh who chose not to relocate to Auckland when the trust decided to move its head office there.

AMP NZ Office Trust will be changing its structure from a trust to a company later this year.
