Air NZ scraps regional discount scheme

Frequent flyers on Air New Zealand’s regional routes are to lose their discounted price scheme.

Air New Zealand has stopped accepting membership to its Starfish programme, which offers discounts of 15% and 30% for trips to and from 18 regional airports.

Current benefits will continue until their membership expires or up to October 1, 2014.

The airline says the decision to end the scheme comes after three and a half years because its members didn’t use it enough.
