Bid to stop $6.3 million tax penalty fails

Disgraced Australian taxman Nick Petroulias has had his attempt to head off a $6.3 million tax bill slapped back by the High Court after a long serious of legal foot-dragging.

Mr Petroulias, a former Australian Tax Office assistant commissioner who spent several years in a Sydney prison for corruption and who also set up a number of tax minimisation schemes in New Zealand, has been on the end of several subsequent tax actions on both sides of the Tasman.
