Business owners get tweak to vulnerable worker provisions
The select committee reviewing new employment laws has recommended provisions that may help small businesses.
Part 6A of the Employment Relations Amendment bill proposed vulnerable workers could stay on at their workplace even if there was a change in management.
Vulnerable workers are defined in the legislation to include cleaners, caterers, and caretakers.
It meant employees could have a right to elect to transfer to a new employer and become their employee under the same terms and conditions of employment.
