Could TV3 reporting prejudice case against Malaysian diplomat? Experts weigh in

TV3’s exclusive interview with the woman at the centre of the Malaysian diplomat alleged sexual assault case has sparked debate over whether it could prejudice a trial.

Muhammad Rizalman bin Ismail, a staff assistant for defence at the Malaysia High Commission in Wellington, was arrested on May 9 and charged with burglary and assault with intent to rape.

In last night’s interview on MediaWorks' 3rd Degree, 21-year-old Tania Rose Billingsley did not give details about the alleged assault but called on Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully to resign.
