Defence botch-ups costing taxpayers hundreds of millions

Labour politicians are behind yet another defence botch-up, the latest in a long line of dodgy deals that have cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

In a just-released report Auditor General Lyn Provost has taken the Defence Force to task for the blunder saying the military should stop buying “first of type” equipment.

Eight state of the art NH90 helicopters ordered in 2006 by then Defence Minister Phil Goff have a number of serious flaws.
