The Economy: Reasons to be cheerful, part two
It has become all too easy to get too pessimistic about the economy.
With a daily diet of economic woe coming from the northern hemisphere, and with a government re-elected on some fairly specific pledges not to raise spending for the next three years, the mood among New Zealanders about the economy could be expected to be nudging towards gloom.
Certainly the economic news in the media is almost all bad at the moment. But there are good reasons to be more upbeat about the country’s economic prospects, even if the coming year may not be so flash.
