Election 2014: an echo rather than a choice

Five weeks out from an election, the dividing line in politics is getting clearer.

And it isn’t quite what the politicians themselves would tell you.

The usual sonorous claims that New Zealanders face “a stark choice” or the country is “a cross roads” “faced with a historic decision” and so forth are being made, and these will reach a crescendo by September 20.
