Election 2014: How to make sense of spending promises

Labour’s decision to taihoa on further spending promises until it rejigs its existing costings in light of reduced economic expectations in the Prefu will bring some relief to those attempting to do the right thing by voters and taxpayers.

Unfortunately, there are more of the former than the latter, making a lolly scramble election the norm rather than the exception.
