German publisher buys up in Auckland
German publisher Bertelsmann SE & Co KgaA is acquiring the Random House and land at 12-14 Poland Rd, Wairau Valley, Auckland, for $2.4 million.
Bertelsmann is 42.877% owned by German investors, 20% by UK citizens, 11.4% US public, 10.1% Mohn family of Germany and the balance by various individuals.
The investors are merging their respective global consumer trade publishing businesses.
Three US residents have been given Overseas Investment Office permission to buy a $1.73 million holiday retreat at Kerikeri north of Auckland.
