Fonterra ignores new market, Aussies claim upper hand in image battle

Fonterra is potentially losing out on several million dollars a year by ignoring an Australian competitor’s initiative of exporting fresh milk overseas.

At the same time, the Australian producer claims that country now has a better image in China than New Zealand when it comes to "clean and green" products.

New South Wales farmer-owned Norco Co-operative has just starting flying fresh milk directly to China: Australasia’s first commercial shipment of pure liquid milk.
