Dead man's tale seals Fonterra's secret Powdergate deal

Dairy giant Fonterra has struck a secret out-of-court deal with a former employee over the Powdergate affair, just days before a scheduled Employment Court hearing.

The secret settlement comes less than two months after Employment Court Judge Christina Inglis ruled an affidavit from the late John Young, the former Kiwi Co-operative Dairies chairman and New Zealand Dairy Board member, was admissable in the now-aborted trial.

Auckland man Sean Miller's hearing against Fonterra was to start yesterday but the parties notified the court of their settlement last Thursday.
