Former district law society president suspended

A former president of the Waikato-Bay of Plenty District Law Society has been suspended for four months due to reckless conduct.

Kit Clews told NBR ONLINE the impact of yesterday’s penalty decision on his legal practice remains to be seen but he regretted it greatly.

When representing a client on rape and indecent assault charges, Mr Clews sent documents to Crown Law that contained privileged material.
