F&P Appliances explores China retail move, Broadhurst talks on Haier-Alibaba deal

A logistics deal between Chinese giants Haier and Alibaba will have little effect, outside of China, on Haier’s New Zealand subsidiary Fisher & Paykel Appliances [NZX: FPH].

That’s because Fisher & Paykel products are not sold by retailers in China – but the company reveals it has been exploring such a move.

Earlier this week, Alibaba – China’s largest e-commerce company – announced it would invest $HK2.82 billion ($NZ441 million) in appliance-maker and logistics company Haier Electronics Group.
