Franchisee fight over Progressive site

Progressive Enterprises has taken legal action to stop a small supermarket site from being turned into a rival business.  

As well as owning about 160 Countdown sites, Progressive also franchises out Supervalue stores, smaller outlets dubbed “community-based supermarkets” through Progressive subsidiary Wholesale Distributors.  

Lawyers for Progressive last week asked the High Court at Auckland for an injunction to stop the sale of the Pauanui Supervalue for $1.28 million to Matt and Amanda Iggulden.
