French labour agreement bans after-hours email

A new labour agreement in France has made it taboo for some workers to check emails or answer calls after hours, but at least one New Zealand lawyer says employees here shouldn’t get too excited.

After six months of negotiations, employers’ federations Syntec and Cinov and two major unions signed an agreement designating 11 hours a day for rest in an “obligation to disconnect” for independent contractors.
