Fur flies over taxpayer-funded 'sexploitation' of women on TV

Fur is flying among the matriarchs of the New Zealand television industry as tempers rage over the "sexploitation" of women in two reality shows on TV3, one of which is funded by New Zealand On Air.

Critics have raised the question of whether NZ On Air was effectively duped into funding the gormless so-called reality "show" The GC.

Such is the depth of feeling that NZOA chief executive Jane Wrightson resigned from the influential lobby group, Women In Film and Television, apparently stung by criticism from executive director Susi Newborn.
