Heritage group faces court costs – can it pay?

Foodstuffs (North Island) and Thames Coromandel District Council are pursuing costs of about $60,000 from heritage group Coro Mainstreet.

The two groups are seeking approximately $30,000 each, according to Foodstuffs communications manager Jo Jalfon.

The costs claims come after Coro Mainstreet lost an application for a judicial review in the Appeal Court over a resource consent decision allowing expansion of a Four Square grocery store in Coromandel town.
