Pressure is growing from the insurance industry for a more streamlined approach to a post-Canterbury Earthquake Commission model.

In a wide-ranging speech in Wellington, Vero chief executive Gary Dransfield says allowing insurers to deal with claims more directly, and cutting out the Earthquake Commission, would get assessments done and insurance payments made to householders much more quickly.
