Judges accused of unlawful political lobbying named

Judicial thorn Vince Siemer is tilting at the judiciary again, this time accusing top judges of lobbying parliament to block setting up a register of judges’ pecuniary interests.

He alleges the country’s most senior judges tried to unlawfully undermine New Zealand’s tripartite system of government and the guidelines of judicial conduct by lobbying parliament’s justice and electoral select committee last August to prevent passage of legislation.
