Judges' register of pecuniary interest bill to go to House

A Green Party private member's bill to establish a register of pecuniary interest for judges is to get a hearing in Parliament.The bill, introduced by Green justice spokesman Kennedy Graham, was pulled out of the ballot for private members bills shortly after noon today.The bill – which has been taken over by Mr Graham's fellow Green MP David Clendon – was drafted in the wake of the Justice Bill Wilson affair.It would establish an annual declaration of pecuniary interests for judges along similar lines to that of MPs.
