Extradition law review not sparked by 'any individual case' - Collins

The Law Commission is undertaking a review of New Zealand’s extradition law and its cooperation with other countries for the investigation and prosecution of crimes but Justice Minister Judith Collins says the review wasn’t sparked by recent events surrounding Kim Dotcom.

The Crown entity is an independent adviser in the review, reform and development of the law in New Zealand. The minister tasks the commission with reviewing statutes and making recommendations, which are then reported to Parliament.
